Job Description

We have a direct-hire position for a DB2 Developer IV.1 with one of our clients in Remote. No third party candidates considered for this position.

We are actively seeking a self-motivated individual to join our team as an IBM DB2 Developer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing enhancements to software applications with a primary focus on IBM DB2 integration. As a key member of the IT development team, you are expected to be a high-level technical expert in coding, testing, supporting, and debugging projects related to IBM DB2.

 Your role in our mission 

• Develop and maintain robust batch applications with a strong emphasis on IBM DB2 integration.
• Conduct systems analysis, systems design, application development, unit testing, integration testing, and preparation for deployment, ensuring technical documentation and application support are comprehensive.
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct real-time issues related to IBM DB2, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
• Generate complete technical documentation covering analysis, design, development, and testing phases, along with any required user documentation.
• Collaborate in the design and development of application systems, integrating technologies such as IBM DB2.
• Conduct performance tuning of processes in a partitioned database environment, adhering to IBM DB2 development standards and best practices.
• Review work of other team members for accuracy, adherence to standards, and optimization.
• Provide application-level production support, including maintenance of all IBM DB2 processes.
• Develop shell scripts for parallel execution of processes on IBM DB2.

 What we're looking for 

• Proven work experience as a developer with a strong focus on IBM DB2 in software design and development.
• In-depth knowledge of IBM DB2 architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting and strong SQL and Stored Procedures skills.
• Demonstrated successful delivery of complex projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with peers and the onsite team.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and timeliness to meet customer service expectations.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree or related experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a developer, with roles of increasing responsibility and complexity, specifically focusing on IBM DB2 integration.
