Telecom Specialist 2 

Job Description

We have a position for a Telecom Specialist 2  with one of our clients in Atlanta, GA for an initial contract duration of 4 months. US citizens and all those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.

Under direct supervision provides on-site installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting & repairs to a variety of telecommunications cabling & equipment. Plan network installations by evaluating customer requests, facility plans & specs.

• Provide onsite telecom and audio-visual support for customers located within multiple locations.
• Troubleshoot connectivity problems within voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables following industry standards.
• Perform integrity tests on data network installations.
• Ensure that Cisco VoIP and AV equipment continues to work as expected and is following all applicable policies, procedures, and rules.
• Open/document/track problem tickets escalating to appropriate workgroups when required.
• Coordinate with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with network or telecom hardware and software.
• Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Documents network by labelling equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
