Senior SQL Server DBA

Job Description

We have a position for a Senior SQL Server DBA with one of our clients in Timonium , MD for an initial contract duration of 1 year 2 months. US citizens and all those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.

Details Of Position:

The Sr. SQL Server DBA will investigate complex problems, proactively monitor performance, apply advanced knowledge of SQL internals for troubleshooting, perform complex index analysis. He/She works with the application development teams to design database schemas and propose SQL Server functionality to solve business problems. The Sr. SQL Server DBA will not be doing migrations, backups or maintenance.

The Sr. DBA will be required to have experience in the following areas:

• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
• Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. 
• Provide support for critical production systems.
• Support release deployment activities after hours.
