Sr. QA Automation Engineer (Agile)

Job Description

We have 2 positions for a Sr. QA Automation Engineer (Agile) with one of our clients in Lincoln, NE for an initial contract duration of 1 year 2 months. US citizens and all those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.

The QA Automation Engineer (Agile) serves as the Automation Engineer on the Agile team, analyses, creates and automates tests for the functional and security requirements of applications. This individual develops the automation strategy and generates scripts to perform automated testing during the sprints and overall regression testing. This individual is participating in the agile Scrum team working in partnership with other scrum team members to ensure the goals of the sprints are achieved by automating any test cases or repetitive testing tasks.

The individual should be self-motivated, creative, and proactive, able to work successfully in a fast-paced Agile program, with multiple environments and technologies.  The individual will work closely with other Agile Team Members/Scrum Team Members, Business SMEs, other QA Test Engineers, and stakeholders, executing test iterations, tracking/reporting results, and troubleshooting. Individuals must have a strong understanding of SDLC processes, the QA lifecycle, Agile, DevOps, and SQL.

Scope of Activities:

• The Sr. QA Automation Engineer (Agile) will demonstrate competencies in these job responsibilities:
• Serves as the QA Automation Engineer within an Agile team framework
• Provides QA expertise on tasks and estimates/sizing to the Agile lead/Scrum Master
• Participates in design discussions/sprints to remove issues before they are coded 
• Uses testing experience to guide how the configuration and coding will promote an easy-to-use, user-friendly, and quality solution   
• Configures and Manages Azure DevOps pipelines to execute Selenium test suites on environments
• Validates test data through automation scripts directly on UI and through APIs
• Responsible for creating and executing test design, test cases and scripts, verification/validation, systems integration testing, and performance testing 
• Works with the Agile Team to resolve cross-functional issues 
• Interprets business and system design documentation and writes test cases that provide complete requirements coverage 
• Designs test cases to include all steps and expected results in a format that can be executed manually or can be used for automation 
• Ensures proper linking of test cases to developer tasks, requirements, stories, and or defects 
• Executes test cases and records results properly to include screenshots, defect management
• Participates in the designing Test Plans and Test Approach 
• Creates test data used in conjunction with test cases 
• Works with Developers to determine when test results are not expected results as per specifications 
• Reviews defects for validity and priority with the Scrum team
• Coordinates with shared services organizations on specific testing issue resolutions 
• Develops, enhances, and maintains tools/applications for a test automation framework supporting automated functional testing using a combination of off-the-shelf and custom-built systems
• Integrates current automation systems into a common test automation framework
• Establishes requirements, evaluates, and recommends test automation tools
• Estimates and plans for the development of test automation frameworks
• Defines processes and standards for implementing test automation
• Creates automated tests for functional/GUI validation of company products and related components
• Provides detailed documentation and training on automation tools and applications
• Ensure adherence to standards and best practices (e.g., enterprise testing standards, etc.) 
• Reports on Test Coverage estimated work efforts
• Ability to write status reports for themselves, projected risk analysis, and next steps in work effort
• Aligns test schedules to meet project timeline testing expectations
• Determine test data needed for execution and identify data gaps in a test environment
