for a
FileMaker Pro Junior Software Engineer - Telehealth
with one of our clients in
Herndon, VA
for an initial contract duration of
6 months.
No third party candidates considered for this position.
Develops, builds, configures, customizes, maintains, administers, integrates, unit tests and documents the components of software, hardware and network solutions ensuring they meet business and technical requirements. Coordinates with Client Information Technology, Client internal teams and Client external customers to ensure IT environments, computer applications, interfaces, networks and phone systems operate in highly available and reliable environments. This role will with our current team of software engineers to update and expand our core software solution, built on the Claris FileMaker platform
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Develops, builds, configures, customizes, integrates and unit tests solutions and creates detailed development designs
- Perform hotfixes by testing in development environment, then repeating in production environment
- Plans and executes software development projects to meet requirements within established budget and timeline
- Works with advanced technologies and concepts related to the solution that include API integrations, data exchange, JavaScript, JSON, data migrations, and more
- Ensures that solutions meet requirements outlined in the design documentation
- Performs all work to agreed time, cost and quality constraints
- Ensures that developed solutions are peer reviewed and formally documented
- Unit tests solutions to ensure they meet quality standards
- Investigates opportunities to use new and emerging technologies
- Produces detailed designs for specific application components
- Upgrade, administer, monitor servers, network throughput and firewalls
- Administers database and Microsoft Azure environment including review of logs, upgrades, changes
- Provisions phone system and local label printers
Role Summary:
This position works as part of a team of software developers to support, maintain, and enhance our core software solution, built on the Claris FileMaker platform. Candidate must have experience working with a multi-file, multi-server FileMaker solution, including server maintenance and data migrations. This role will help execute, document, and expand the solution roadmap, helping make the solution more performant, scalable, and secure, while enhancing it with new features and applying new user interface designs. Coordination with Information Technology, internal business teams and external customers will be required to ensure software applications operate in highly available and reliable environments.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Plans and executes software development projects using Agile software development methods to meet requirements within established budget and timeline
- Uses software development skills to create new features, enhance existing features, or troubleshoot system issues
- Works with advanced software technologies and concepts related that include JavaScript, JSON, data migrations, and more
- Upgrade, administer, monitor servers, network throughput and firewalls in a cloud hosting environment
- Estimates timeline and effort for completion of projects including full testing – unit, integration, and UAT – utilizing development and test/staging environments, working with project managers and development team to merge into overall product roadmap.
