Role Summary
Out Client is looking for an experienced, collaborative attorney to join our Law & Policy Department as a Senior Counsel, Privacy in a temporary position estimated at one year. In this role, you will report to the company's Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer on the Compliance and Privacy team and will be responsible for advising on and promoting compliance with data protection and privacy laws and regulations affecting business activities primarily in the United States. You will implement related policies and help business stakeholders to understand and address data protection and privacy issues as they emerge in the development of new advertising products and technologies, primarily within our client Media business and provide contractual support on privacy terms in our supply chain and procurement agreements. You will be expected to stay abreast of developments and trends in data protection and privacy laws and regulations and enforcement.

- Deep expertise and strong interest in privacy and data protection global laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- CIPP/US and/or CIPP/E certification.
- Experience providing pragmatic and practical advice to internal clients on legal risks
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Serve as the subject matter expert and point of escalation for customer and supplier privacy and data protection-related contract negotiations and questions across client Media and Supply Chain.
- Develop, update and maintain privacy and data protection documentation (e.g., templates, blog posts, privacy contract negotiation playbook, Transfer Impact Assessment Guide, etc.)
- Support the completion of privacy questionnaires, assessments, and data subject requests.
- Provide solution-focused privacy guidance to client Media, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
- Refine, enhance, and scale company-wide privacy compliance operating processes.
- Identify potential privacy and information security risks and provide practical risk-mitigation solutions.
- Research, investigate and conduct due diligence on new and emerging compliance obligations.
- Design and deliver training, guidelines, and standard processes on privacy and data protection matters for legal and non-legal teams.
- Stay informed of changes and developments in privacy laws, regulations, standards, and guidance, and update business practices/processes accordingly.
- Handle special projects, as requested.
Skills & Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the bar.
- Minimum 5 + years of relevant privacy experience (whether in a dedicated privacy role or in product legal or sale’s legal role working on privacy matters), including prior in-house or law firm experience.
- Deep expertise and strong interest in privacy and data protection global laws and regulations.
- Accountable and hands-on, self-starter and results-oriented.
- CIPP/US and/or CIPP/E certification is a plus.
- Experience providing pragmatic and practical advice to internal clients on legal risks with a focus on practical solutions and a proven track record of success.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities while managing expectations.
- Excellent communication skills.
