The IT Manager is a hands-on, versatile technology professional who combines day-to-day IT operations management with business-focused systems analysis. This role ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of the company's technology environment while supporting users, analyzing business processes, and driving continuous improvement across systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced IT generalist with strong problem-solving skills, technical depth, and the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions. This is an in-office role that requires direct engagement with internal users, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
IT Management & Operations (40-50%)
- Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring reliable performance of networks, servers, workstations, and cloud applications.
- Manage and maintain core infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, network hardware, firewalls, VPN, backup systems, and endpoint security tools.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices (security, acceptable use, equipment lifecycle, data handling).
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and resource utilization; proactively resolve issues and optimize configurations.
- Lead vendor relationships for hardware, software, and managed services; evaluate and negotiate contracts.
- Maintain asset inventories, licensing compliance, and refresh cycles for devices and equipment.
- Support IT budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities in collaboration with the VP of Technology & Sales Operations.
IT Support & Helpdesk Oversight (20-30%)
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier 1-2 support issues.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Train and support end-users on systems, tools, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding processes including account provisioning, workstation setup, and permission reviews.
Systems & Business Analysis (20-30%)
- Work closely with operations, sales, finance, and other departments to understand business needs and recommend technology solutions.
- Analyze workflows, identify process inefficiencies, and assist in designing improved systems or automation.
- Support configuration, maintenance, and optimization of key cloud-based applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, Qlik/BI tools, collaboration platforms).
- Assist in gathering requirements, testing enhancements, and collaborating with internal teams or external developers on system improvements.
- Develop ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support business insights.
Cybersecurity & Compliance (10-15%)
- Monitor and support security controls including MFA, SSO, conditional access, endpoint protection, patching, and backup/restore procedures.
- Assist in annual security reviews, risk assessments, and audit activities.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, data privacy standards, and regulatory obligations.
