Job Description

We have 2 positions for a Sr. Corporate Accountant with one of our clients in Remote for an initial contract duration of 4 months. No third party candidates considered for this position.

The Senior Corporate Accountant owns complex general ledger operations and reporting for key accounting areas such as leases, intercompany or consolidation. This role will play a key role in month-end-close, ensure compliance with GAAP and act as a strategic partner to finance leadership across different teams.

  • 15% Assist with the internal and year end audit Support process improvement efforts Special projects as needed
  • 70% Lead accounting for complex GL areas, such as debt under ASC 470, leases under AS 842) including monthly reconciliations, roll-forwards, and journal entries.
  • Prepare and record intercompany entries and eliminations, new debt issuance entries and amortization of issuance costs.
  • Support recurring and ad-hoc journal entries, accruals, allocations reclassifications and adjustments.
  • Ensure robust balance sheet reconciliation, identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly variance and balance sheet fluctuation analyses, highlighting significant drivers and trends.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for debt, leases, intercompany, interest expense and ensure audit readiness via documentation of policies and processes.
  • Respond to internal audit and tax department requests.
  • Navigate GL and other systems to research items for month-end close.
  • Perform moderately advanced technical accounting analysis.
  • Prepare reports, as requested, monthly, as well as quarterly and annually by specific deadlines.
  • Document evidence of compliance to internal controls for key controls and assigned processes.
  • 15% Assist field with accounting questions and processes.
  • Liase with other departments or teams on a periodic basis to identify, investigate, or resolve accounting-related issues in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain periodic meetings as necessary.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed.
  • Explain and enforce accruals process.
  • Share expertise and provide guidance to junior accountants.
