Job Description

We have 2 positions for a Sr. Director, Finance Applications with one of our clients in Atlanta, GA for an initial contract duration of 6 months. No third party candidates considered for this position.

  • Job Summary
  • The Sr. Director, Finance Applications is the primary business-side owner of the organization’s core financial technology stack: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (ERP), Business Central/SuiteSolutions (billing platforms), SAP Concur (T&E) and 3PL (warehouse management partner), expanding to future platforms such as enterprise performance management (EPM) and accounting close management as we mature our finance technology stack.
  • This role holds end-to-end accountability for governance, configuration, data integrity, user enablement, and the strategic roadmap across all financial platforms. The right person brings strong ERP and close-process expertise, a controls-first mindset, and the cross-functional credibility to work confidently with Accounting, Supply Chain, FP&A, and IT leadership.
  • The leader must effectively partner with Enterprise Technology and Field Operations colleagues in the orchestration of cross-functional solutions to ensure clean integration points with operations platforms such as ServiceNow and Oracle Unified Assurance, but will not carry direct build/configuration responsibility for those platforms. Above all, this role exists to ensure that the financial technology environment is stable, trusted, and continuously improving, maximizing the organization’s technology investments and enabling finance to efficiently operate with confidence.
  • The right candidate will convert to a permanent Sr. Director, Finance Applications. This role is located in any Segra market or Atlanta, GA.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Hands-On Configuration & Development (Early Phase)
  • Directly configure D365 F&O modules (Procurement & Sourcing, Accounts Payable, Vendor Collaboration) to close priority gaps quickly
  • Build and modify Power Automate flows to automate approval routing, notifications, and cross-system data hand-offs
  • Develop or extend light X++ customizations where standard configuration cannot meet a business requirement, working within D365's extension framework
  • Build and test integration mappings between D365 and owned systems (Concur, 3PL) at the field and transaction level; partner with Technology to validate and test financial system integration mappings with operational systems
  • Use D365 Data Management Framework (DMF/DIXF) and OData APIs to diagnose data issues and execute corrective data loads
  • Personally validate fixes in a non-production environment before handing off to the broader team for testing and rollout
  • Lead and govern the structured handover program from PwC, ensuring design rationale, configuration decisions, and integration architecture are fully internalized
  • Define the post-transfer support model, SLAs, and escalation paths
  •
  • Technical Leadership
  • Own the post-implementation program roadmap; balancing remediation, enhancements, and integration stabilization across competing priorities
  • Establish governance structures including sprint planning, steering committee reporting, and a prioritized backlog across Finance and IT stakeholders
  • Hold vendors, implementation partners, and internal teams accountable to delivery timelines and quality standards
  • Define the long-term operating model for D365 F&O and other financial systems, including support tiers, change management processes, and system ownership
  • Transition from hands-on delivery to program oversight as the environment stabilizes, while remaining technically engaged enough to review work and unblock the team
  • Provide innovative thought leadership to successfully improve core finance and accounting functional responsibilities via tools and technology process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure financial data exchanges remain accurate, compliant and audit-ready
  • Serve as the single accountable owner of the Finance Systems landscape: D365 F&O, SAP Concur, Business Central/Suite Solutions billing platforms and 3PL integration today
  • Own the roadmap and business case for future finance platform investments, including EPM/planning and accounting close management tools
  • Evaluate, select, and lead implementation of new finance systems as the function matures beyond the current D365 footprint
  • Maintain a unified architecture view across all owned finance systems to avoid duplicate functionality and integration sprawl
  • People Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build internal capability and reduce external dependency by establishing a self-sufficient Finance Systems function
  • Develop, lead and mentor a growing financial systems team; provide direction, coaching, and performance management
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, IT, and business partners to resolve accounting and reporting issues efficiently
  • Sponsor training programs and knowledge-sharing frameworks for finance end users and IT support teams
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement, consistency, and strong governance while maintaining flexibility to support a rapidly evolving business
  • Additional Information/Requirements:Qualifications
