We have a position for a Public Relations & Public Affairs Consultant with one of our clients in Atlanta, GA for an initial contract duration of 1 year. No third party candidates considered for this position.

The Corporate Communications team within Corporate Affairs is looking for a Public Relations & Public Affairs Consultant to help manage and sustain relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, communications expertise, and project management skills to drive the company’s growth and reputation.

 As our $22 billion company moves into a new era, each person on our team has an important role to play – and we’re looking for an experienced, resourceful, and driven Public Relations & Public Affairs Consultant to support our team.

Role Overview:

  • As a Public Relations & Public Affairs Consultant, you will play a pivotal role supporting work around Client’s reputational management and external communications strategy. This contract position will involve developing and implementing comprehensive public relations and public affairs campaigns, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, and managing crisis communications efforts when necessary.


  • PR management and messaging: Develop press releases, messaging, quotes and other materials that convey a clear message and resonate in meaningful ways. Work with Client executives to create materials and prepare speakers for media interactions and speaking engagements.
  • Media relations: Proactively reach out to media contacts to pitch thought leadership pieces, executive profiles and business PR. Respond to media requests and manage press engagements and announcements, and manage the PR agency of record.
  • Public Affairs: Assist with the development and execution of Client’s local Atlanta/Georgia public affairs strategy to enhance the company’s reputation, work with partner and community organizations and support related campaigns.
  • Writing: Transition seamlessly between writing for leaders, media and internal channels.
  • Metrics: Bring a strong understanding of measurement. You must be able to develop and maintain metrics to assess the effectiveness of communications efforts.
  • Strategy and M&A communications: Support the development and execution of communications plans for new investment and acquisition announcements, with a lens to both internal and external audiences.
  • Crisis communications: Prepare crisis response plans, in collaboration with the divisions, legal and other partners. Work with partners and across teams to assess reputational risks and develop thoughtful recommendations and reports.
  • Project management: Track timelines and deliverables to ensure projects run on schedule.
  • Campaigns: Develop and execute integrated communications campaigns that support our strategic initiatives. Work with internal and external partners to plan PR/PA activations that grow our brand profile.
  • Research: Seek out and regularly interview a roster of internal sources to tell the story behind our business, strategic programs and connect to broader market trends and world affairs.
  • Speed & agility: Work at a fast pace and on tight deadlines. Some days, you may have a “drop everything” moment where you need to shift priorities to support unexpected needs.
