Job Description

We have a direct-hire position for a Project Manager 1 - Life Insurance with one of our clients in Duluth, GA. No third party candidates considered for this position.

The Project Manager is a servant leader who helps teams self-organize and deliver via effective Agile practices. The Project Manager supports and enforces the rules of the Scrum process and other rules the team has agreed upon. The Project Manager also helps the team coordinate with other teams and communicates status to management as needed.

This is hybrid position that requires working onsite 3 days and 2 days remote.

The Project Manager is charged with scheduling and facilitating all scrum ceremonies, monitoring KPIs, as well as raising and mitigating risks. The Project Manager monitors the health of the team by managing the implementation of improvements as suggested in team retrospectives and having feedback conversations with all team members on a regular basis.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Act as a coach and a facilitator for the team
  • Remove team delivery roadblocks
  • Ensure adherence to Agile methods and practices
  • Collaborate with Product Owner to maintain the product backlog
  • Negotiate scope changes with the team
  • Collaborate with team to plan sprints and releases
  • Monitor/balance tasks among the delivery team
  • Track the progress of User Stories throughout sprints and keep the team on track towards their commitments
  • Facilitate Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Standups, and Retrospective Sprint Ceremonies
  • Act as the agent of change and continuously drive towards increasing agile maturity, using KPIs to help the team improve their agile process maturity
  • Keep everyone focused on delivering business value
  • Proactively identify performance issues and opportunities for action
  • Influence situations through suggestions, training, and advice on both straight-forward and complex issues, collaborating with other decision makers on day-to-day activities
  • Practice the art of servant leadership and work to garner respect from the team
